About UsHello. My name is Jason Bland. I am a licensed physical therapist assistant of 22 years and also the president of non-profit ministry called “TRINITY OUTDOOR DISABLED ADVENTURES, LLC.”
On July 9, 2005 I was involved in an automobile accident on Kaliste Slalom that ejected me from a ¾ ton pickup. I sustained some serious injuries. After a yearlong battle and fight with infection, I subsequently loss my right lower leg. This was an eye opening experience that enabled me to become a more spiritual, loving, and a caring individual even through all the pain and suffering I endured. Yet it also engaged me into a calling to establish a Christian based support organization to minister words of ENCOURAGEMENT to other people with disabilities. In February of 2007, GOD allowed me to become highly active by starting Lafayette’s first amputee support group called Acadiana Amputee Support Group and also becoming a volunteer for the NWTF Wheelin’ Sportsmen organization. These groups ignited a fire in my life, by allowing me to continuously grow not only in educating and supporting people with disabilities but also in showing these individuals that through the power of God ANY and ALL outdoor activities are accomplishable and that no matter what, “Life Must Go On.” All of this time with the interaction and relationships that formed with disabled individuals took a tremendous and positive effect on my life. I asked and prayed to GOD, “WHY ME?” This is when on November 10, 2008 HE woke me up in a dream, spoke to me, and He told me to open Trinity Outdoors Disabled Adventures, LA. HE also reinforced the ministry by giving me the quote from Acts 20:35, “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Therefore, the time arrived for those dreams to finally become REALITY. Since starting TRINITY OUTDOOR DISABLED ADVENTURES, LA (T.O.D.A. for short), over the years we have been able to bless more than thousands of individuals from hunting, fishing, camping, and summer faith based camps. Our organization believes in spending one on one time with these individuals to make the experience a lifelong one. We have been blessed to purchase disabled equipment, bibles, shirts, also able bless other organizations, and join in with other national organizations who have the same interest… but through TODA we have been able to, with the help of the Holy Spirit, change lives and be a positive influence on those who are struggling. It is part of our ministry to not only touch the poor, suffering, and weary but also bring LIFE into those who once thought they could not do or participate in outdoor activities anymore. |
Who We Are |
Trinity Outdoors Disabled Adventures, LA (501c3 Non Profit) has been formed as an outreach program from Acadiana Amputee Support Group. The vision of our group is to provide enough community involvement to see more people with disabilities “STEP OUT” away from the usual way of life, and “STEP INTO” a new way that can build confidence, provide spiritual uplifting, and have the opportunity to surround themselves with others who are experiencing the same challenges in life. Activities such as tennis, golfing, hunting, fishing, and canoeing, kayaking, camping, hiking, and summer camps will be organized to help bring our members together for memorable spiritual experiences of a lifetime. We have volunteers from every many parts of our state of Louisiana that are ready at the drop of dime to lend a helping hand. The majority of these individuals has a child, a relative, a friend, or is disabled themselves. When people ask what ages we cater too; I always answer, “There is no age limit. We can cater from 2 years old to 102 years old.” OUR mission is to give back, share, encourage, and uplift ANYONE who may be dealing with or have dealt with disabilities. OUR TEAM is made up of GOD loving & sincere individuals who have a passion to uplift the principles our TEAM stands for.
